4 Months Old!

Things to remember about Drake at {FOUR} months:

* He has the squishiest ears.  Most of the time if he is laying against something, his ear is folded in half.

* He has little fat rolls the cover his knee caps when he is standing.

* He is a great eater! He screams when his bottle is taken away for a burp and he is now loving his rice cereal.

* He is still an awesome sleeper.

* He has discovered his feet and is easily entertained by them.

* He is still a blankie monster and still prefers mine to the new one.

* He is a little escape artist at night and is always trying to get out of his swaddle.

* He loves to stand and pretend that he is a big boy.  He will stand in your lap as long as you will let him.

* He has learned to completely arch his back and stiffen like a little board when he is mad.  He's quite dramatic at times!

* He loves to watch other people and always giggles at little kids.

* He is doing much better in the bumbo and can sit straight up without having to lean over.

* His blow-outs seem to be less frequent.

* He is still on Prevacid.

* His flat spot is getting better.

* He loves to swim and splash in the bath.

* He is a momma's boy.

* He loves when I sing silly little songs to him... Popcorn Popping, In The Leafy Treetops, Give Said the Little Stream, Old McDonald, Five Little Ducks, Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam.

* He is a little drool bucket and always has two fingers in his mouth which usually results in gagging and puke.

* He loves to lay on the ottoman with both blankies over him.

* He loves his binkie but only keeps it in his mouth long enough to fall asleep or sooth himself.

* He likes to sit in his swing but not while it is moving.  He has discovered the mirror and the little toys.

* He really has no desire to roll over on his own and still hates to be on his tummy.

* His little cheeks are simply irresistible and he has the sweetest little giggle.

* He looks like a little elf.

* He is the most incredible little baby and I am so darn grateful to have him as my own!

Rice Cereal

Yesterday, Chris and I decided to see how the Little would do with his first round of rice cereal.  It wasn't love at first bite like I had hoped it would be, but he did okay.  He couldn't quite get the swallowing down.  He spit back out every spoonful at least once before he finally swallowed it.  All in all though, he managed to eat his whole little serving and was as cute as can be in the process.  I'm sure in a few weeks, he'll be scarfing it down and bawling for more like he does with his milk!

Anyone in the mood for some "see food!"

Being a big boy was hard work and required a nap and some snuggle time with the brother!

May 14th!!

It's here again, and I honestly can't believe it!  Another year has come and gone so quickly, it's unreal! This sexy man has been my babe for nine years now and what an awesome nine years it has been! This last year has by far been the most eventful for both of us and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced it with this curly, blonde-haired boy!  I am one lucky lady! I love you babe!  Happy May 14th!

This picture is totally sweet! Our hair...was rough! Ya gotta love the "crimp!"

Is this normal???

Alright blogger moms, I need some help.  As you can see, my son has a serious problem.  I apologize for the graphic nature of these photos, but this is what I deal with every single time my son poops.  And, believe it or not, this is a mild case.  It usually explodes from his legs and his back.  I realize that blow-outs are to be expected, but come on... every dang time, really??  What am I doing wrong? Is it the diaper? Is it something I'm eating?  Or... am I just cursed with regular blow-outs?  Have any of you experienced this problem with your kiddies?  If so, and if you've found a solution, please, please let me know.  I am going to go broke buying Oxy Clean!

Mother's Day weekend

We had quite the eventful weekend.  Bird and Jared came to play for a few days, Nick popped in for Sunday, and Wess called, making the family seem complete again, even if it was only for an hour!

On Saturday, we took advantage of Bird's visit and threw here a little bridle shower.  I'm not much of a party planner, but I think it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself! I had lots of help, of course and could not have done it without Te-Te! She was a crepe making machine and I am so grateful that she was able to be here to party with us!  Bird was super spoiled by all those that came and was so excited to get home last night to put away all of her new treasures!

After the shower, we packed up the crew and headed up to the pool.  Melissa was nice enough to let us all tag along and we ended up having a great time.  The little one still loves that water! Yay!! This was his first time swimming with daddy and it was a great success! Chris and my little one loved it!

Sunday, was by far the most eventful day of the weekend! My first Mother's Day, a call from the little brother, and my pops being called to be the bishop of a college ward, made for a Mother's Day to be remembered!  Yep, that's right... Brian is a Bishop, and will be a great one! We were all kind of shocked when we found out, only because we've been teasing him about it for years now and it was too funny that it finally happened!  We all attended the Sacrament Meeting where he was sustained.  It was a wonderful meeting and there is no doubt in my mind that he is the perfect man for the job!  The ward is blessed to have him as their bishop and I am even more blessed to have him as my father!

And last, but certainly not least is the fact that I am one incredibly lucky girl! I am so blessed to have the most amazing mother, grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law in the world!  This year, as a new mother, I have a new appreciation and love for the wonderful ladies in my life.  The love you have for your children is unlike any I have experienced before and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to now share that with all of my lovely ladies.

I am so thankful for my son and for the blessing it is to be a mother! He has changed my life in more ways than I ever could have imagined and I love him more than I ever thought possible!

Drake + Apple Juice =

The most amazing amount of yucky poop you have ever seen and... it just so happened to get ALL over DADDY!!!  That's right folks, the oh so wise one, Amber, told me that giving my little one a tiny bit of apple juice may help his constipation and boy oh boy was she right! We were having a nice little Mexican Fiesta over at the Fatty's house tonight and I just happened to mention that my little Weave hadn't pooped since last week.  Amber suggested that I give him a bit of juice so we tried it out right then and there.  He loved it, of course, and not more than twenty minutes later, my sweet little man turned bright red and the next thing I knew, my hubby was covered in the unthinkable!!!  Chris was more than disgusted but Drake was sure happy and that's all that matters, right!  However, next time we try the apple juice trick, we will be sure to replace the diaper with a full plastic bag in order to avoid another mishap! :)  Ahh... the joys of parenthood!
