Dear Daddy,

I think today may be a rough day.
Mommy thought when I slept until 9:30 that today would be a good day but...
I think she was wrong.

It's only 11:30 and mommy is about ready to put me outside on the sidewalk with a sign that says,
"Free to a good home!"
Not really, but she says that I'm making her a little bit crazy today!

For breakfast, mommy made me an avo/banana smoothie.
Remember how much I love those?!?
Well for some reason this morning, I decided that I only wanted to eat half of it without my own spoon so mommy gave me one so I could help.
I dug around in the smoothie for a few minutes and then decided that I was sick of the spoon so I flung it on the floor, splattering green goo everywhere.
I cracked myself up with that trick but ended up losing the spoon for good.  Dang!
Even after the spoon incident, I was still hungry so mom kept feeding me.
No more than three minutes later, I thought it would be really cute to fake cough the entire bite that mom had just put in my mouth all over everything.
And then, when I realized how cool it was to let the goo ooze out of my mouth, I kept doing it.
I really and truly thought mommy would think it was cute but boy was I wrong!
She was definitely NOT impressed!  Shoot!

After breakfast, mommy let me play with my toys for a few minutes.
I was entertained for about .2 seconds before I started whining to go outside.
Cole was here cutting the grass so mommy wouldn't let me go outside.
I cried for a few minutes and the returned to my cruising around the house chanting "no, no."
I definitely say "no,no" to mommy more times in one day than she has ever said to me!
I obviously think I'm the boss!

After 30 minutes of the "no, no's" mommy decided it was time for nap.
I threw a fit when she changed my diaper (of course) and then acted happy to go to bed.
But... I really wasn't!  I was tricking her!
It took me over an hour and four times of mommy coming in to lay me back down.
It's really windy today so Otie is scared and kept coming into my room, so naturally I thought it was party time.
Every time mommy came in, this is what she saw...

I know that I'm cute and irresistible!
It really is hard for mommy to be too frustrated with me.
I think she just gets a little frazzled when I whine!
I also think that my big boy molars are almost in, so hopefully I am a happier boy soon!
It's hard to be the baby, ya know!

Well daddy, just thought you'd want to know what you are missing here at home this morning.
I sure love you!
See you after work!

xoxo

Picture of the day...

Compliments of Uncle Snipes!

[03.29.10]

Uncle Snipes came with Drake and I to pick up our block from Sunroc yesterday.
Drake LOVES Uncle Snipes!
He wanted Snipes to hold him all day.
It was pretty darn cute.
I'm sure Snipes got sick of hauling him around, but he was a gem and did it anyway!
I love this picture!
You can see his gigantic front teeth.
They really do look like chic-lets!
For the past week, both Drake and I have been the biggest rag-a-muffins!
We have been working in the yard non-stop and this little man loves to get dirty!
When we got home from this little ride,
Drake crawled all over while Snipes and I power washed and was soaking wet and muddy by the time we were done.  He loved it and cried like crazy when it was time to go in!
I'm pretty positive that white shirts and anything but jeans are things of the past!
I might just have to find some little kid Carhart clothes, if there is such a thing!

Love this little man!

[03.28.10]

We took daddy to the park with us to play.
I love when he gets to watch this little man in action!
You wouldn't think that watching a child climb up and slide down the same slide over and over would be so fascinating, but it is!  It's one of my favorite things to do these days!
Unfortunately, Mr. Big wasn't his usual delightful self at the park, but we still had fun.
Can't wait for the "park" in our backyard to be done.
I'm pretty positive that we will be spending many, many hours out there!

Love my big boy!

"Where's the trailer?"

Today, dad, snipes and I could very well have killed a whole lot of people!  It really and truly is a miracle that no one got hurt.  Here's the story:

Over the weekend, we worked in the yard, prepping it for the new "kingdom" that the grandparents bought for Drake for his birthday.  It is a "serious" swing set as Brian would say and will be super fabulous once it is done but right now, I can't lie and say that I'm not having a few seconds thoughts about it!  It has been a huge project and is not even close to being done.

Anyways... today, Snipes and I decided to go dump the dirt that we loaded onto the trailer on Saturday.  Snipes backed the truck, I guided and we managed to pull it out from the side of the house with no hiccups.  We gathered our gear and headed down the street.  We had only made it a few hundred yards when the trailer started making some suspicious noises.  By the time we made it down the street to the Fackrell's, snipes decided that something was definitely wrong and stopped.  The problem was... the truck stopped but the trailer didn't!  I guess when we hooked up the trailer, neither one of us checked to see it it was locked into place and it obviously wasn't.  Luckily though, we were going very slow so only minor damage was done to both truck and trailer and snipes was able to successfully macgyver the trailer so we could at least get it back home.  Phew!

Twenty minutes or so after we got back home Brian arrived.  He was pretty impressed with snipes' macgyver skills and decided that the trailer would still be fine to use to haul the dirt off so the three of us jumped back in and headed over to Middleton to dump.  Now mind you, in between our house and Middleton, there are quite a few very busy intersections but we took our chances and made it to where we needed to go, almost!

When we arrived at the designated dumping spot, dad parked and we started to get out of the truck.  Just as I was shutting the door I hear Brian say, "where's the trailer??"  WHAT??? "where's the trailer?" Yep... that's what he said!  The trailer was GONE.  We had lost a BIG, HUGE, EXTREMELY HEAVY trailer and none of us had noticed!  We stood there in shock for a second and then noticed that the trailer was in fact behind us rolling back down the hill!  All three of us took off running.  Dad and I headed for the front to try to slow it down and Snipes ran towards that back and tried throwing rocks under the tires to stop it!  Any one observing this scene had to have been peeing their pants from laughter because I guarantee we looked ridiculous!  We think that the trailer must have popped off the hitch when we turned the corner and just kept on going! We obviously didn't have the safety chains on but in this case, it was probably a good thing.  We did somehow manage to get the stupid monster stopped and hooked back up only then to realize that the ball of the hitch was too small which was most likely the whole problem.  Nice!

Anyways... we dumped the dirt and then Brian decided again to try our luck at getting the trailer home.  Snipes and I were a bit skeptical but we did end up making it without further mishap.  It really and truly is a MIRACLE that the trailer didn't come off anywhere but where we were.  It is a big beast and could have easily caused wrecks that could have killed people.  Holy Smokes, we were definitely being watched over!

I'm pretty sure that I am going to steer clear of trailer pulling for a good long while!  Phew... what a day!

Dear Daddy,

This is how mommy found me when she came to get me up from my nap today.
She says that there is nothing better than peeking into my room and seeing me waiting for her!
She especially loves it when I am laughing and talking to myself.

This is what I was doing in my crib.
I obviously think that I am a very cool dude and am always very proud of myself while standing on the bumpers!
I have also discovered how to rip off mommy's "bite mark protectors." VICTORY!
I even demonstrated my skills at pulling them off for mommy today.
She didn't laugh.
She told me "NO, NO" when I showed her how I can chew on the crib.
I didn't like that very much and cried.

Today I went to the park and learned how to go down the slide all by myself.
Once again... I was pretty proud of myself!
You should have seen my grin!
Mommy still has to remind me to "turn around and slide down" but I'm getting the hang of it!
I had lots of fun with Ryan and Ryder and was even too busy to stop to eat my string cheese.
Can you imagine that!?

This afternoon I "worked" outside for two hours with mommy and Uncle Snipes.
I was a very good helper.
I moved five rocks from the yard and put them "away" inside the doggie door along with...
a ball, a squeaky block, my wrench, my yellow block, a leaf, and one of Otie's toys.
I also had a good ol' time chasing my ball around the yard.
I even climbed to the top of the rocks in the corner of the yard and "turned around and slide down."
It didn't feel too good, but I tried to do it again until mommy moved me.
I LOVED being in the yard and whined less in those two hours than I have the entire month.
I was pretty mad at mommy when she made me go inside for dinner though.

For dinner, mommy gave me oranges (of course) and applesauce and pumpkin.
I ate one bite and decided that I wouldn't eat anymore unless I could stick my own spoon in the bowl.
I don't know why I like to do that, but I do!
Once I had my own spoon, I downed the rest and topped it off with some fishies.

After dinner, grammy came to visit and I tried to talk her into taking me outside again.
She wanted to give in really badly, but mommy said no! (of course!)
She said that I was exhausted and had to go to bed.
Hopefully I get to play outside more tomorrow.
Mommy says that I can help her dig in the dirt.
Won't that be fun!?

Well daddy, that was my day.  Just thought you'd want to know!

Love you!!

xoxo Biggie

ABC

[03.08.10 - 03.14.10]

Mom had spring break this week so I decided that it was a perfect excuse to spend time at her house, working on my latest project.  For some reason, I never feel like sewing at my house.  It's weird, but I can't ever bring myself to get all my stuff out here at home but I love to work on my projects at my mom's!  I even take my sewing machine over there.  Strange, I know!

This was truly a project but I loved it!  I was a little sad to actually finish it because I honestly had so much fun putting it together!  I'm really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to see if it really will keep my little hooligan entertained in church!

The Cabin

[03.12.10 - 03.13.10]

On Friday Drake and I packed up and headed to Brian Head to meet grandma and grandpa and daddy.  I made sure to not forget the toys this time so Drake was much happier and had a great time rolling around on the floor with daddy.  On Saturday morning, he discovered how to throw his ball down the stairs.  He thought he was so tricky!  He laughed every time it bounced down and hit the bottom.  Thank goodness Jess was there to retrieve it for him because there was no way I was going to play that game!

[03.14.10]

Today Snipes gave his homecoming talk in sacrament.  He did an amazing job!  It really is so great to watch my siblings  grow up and become such incredible adults!  After church we all headed back to mom's and had a delicious dinner with the Adams family.  I should have taken pictures, but I didn't.  Dang!  It was super fun to have Jeff, Elizabeth, Melissa, and Christian there but we missed Nick, Aaron, and the Blais family!  Next time we'll have to do it with the whole crew!

The hair

[03.14.10]

Today is a momentous day.  Today, my hair is back to the length that it was four and a half years ago before I had to shave it off!  It finally reaches my bra strap! I have long hair again!
Phew... it's taken FOREVER!

The Park

[03.11.10]

Today we decided to enjoy the sunny weather.  Drake and I joined up with two of our favorite girls, Kristi and Scarlett and headed over to the Pine View park.  To date, Drake hasn't been too impressed by the big jungle gyms at the park and has spent most of his time watching from the sidelines.  He started our park time today in similar fashion, watching Scarlett climb up and down and slide down the slide but he eventually discovered the wood chips and realized that he too, could make it up the steps!  Once this clicked, he was off and crawling, cruising all over!  It would be nice if he were walking all over instead of getting all dirty on his knees, but ya know, I'm still grateful to only have a crawler.  He gets into enough trouble as it is!  Having him up off all fours is not going to be to my advantage other than when it comes time to carry him!

The slide was a huge hit!  I started putting him on his tummy to slide down backwards and he loved it!  I think it's much less scary for him than the original method!  Scarlett was a doll, as always.  She is so sweet to Drake.  They really are such good little friends!  Both Drake and I are lucky to have the Shaw girls to play with!  After the park, we all met up with grammy at Costco for some shopping and a treat.  The kids chowed down on the ice cream.  Drake had more ice cream today than he's ever had and it was apparent the second we got home and he puked on my fabric.  Nice!  I knew it would happen too! Once again Mom of the Year, letting her son eat way more dairy than he should.  Ahh! I need to be better!

Ears, ears, ears

So... even after a good ten days on Augmentin, the ear infection has not left.  We made another trip back to the doc on Saturday night and were told that sure enough, it's still hanging in there.  Luckily the blisters are healing but the infection is still there.  We are now trying a second round of meds to try to kick it.  I'm really, really hoping they do the trick.  I feel so bad for Drake.  I know he's miserable and so am I!  He has been so whiney and hard these last few weeks.  I know that I shouldn't get frustrated with him because he's sick, but oh man it's rough! Last night he cried for over an hour when I put him to bed and tonight he cried for at least thirty minutes and I had to lay him back down four times.  Fun, fun!  I do realize that I have an extremely good boy and I haven't forgotten it, I just need the ear infection to hit the road so my good little babe can come back!  I can't take the crying anymore!!!

This week my darling boy also learned NO and has figured out how to combine his "no"ing with his whining! It's lovely!  Tonight he also put on quite the show for Uncle Nick and Uncle Snipes at dinner!  He has been horrible about throwing food off his tray so I have been trying to teach him to not do it by taking away all of his food as soon as he chucks the first piece.  So tonight, after having his food taken away, he decided to pull the food right out of his mouth and throw it on the floor!  Really!?!?  It's been a fun few weeks!

Two More...

I love these two!  Thank you, thank you Elizabeth!

Snipers!

[03.05.10]
Welcome Home Snipes!

This last weekend was obviously so great!  Snipers returned home on Friday and we were able to spend most of the weekend together with our entire family which hasn't happened in a super long time!  Tae came down with Bird to party with us too, which was so fun, as always.  He really is such a great kid! We're lucky to have him as our "korean brother!"  Bird and Tae had to head back to Provo on Sunday but Nick has been able to stay and hang out, which has been really nice.  It's been a really long time since we've spent any amount of time together!  I am so grateful for our little Musso family!  We definitely have our not so great moments, but for the most part, we are all super blessed to have each other and I am so thankful to have the parents and siblings that I do!  Love you all!

He's home!!

Wessley is home!
Hooray!
He had an incredible two years in Korea and loves it there but,
we are SOOO thrilled to have him home!
As mom would say..."isn't he just so darling!?"

For anyone that cares... I'll post the rest of the pics later!

In keeping with my decision to better my blog, I've decided to make a list of the things that I am grateful for right now.  Mostly things that I may not remember about a few weeks, months or years from now.

I am grateful for...
[03.03.10]

great friends and the chances we have to all get together.

great friends that live far away that we don't get to see enough but sure do love!

new opportunities in life that do require sacrifice but that will ultimately be great for my little family.

the "five year rut," and that we are out of it and truly happier than ever!

Snipes and his example to our family AND that he is coming home in less than two days! yay!

my husband's willingness to work so hard so that I am able to stay home with my little son.

new doctors and for the phrase, "my goal is to make sure that you can have 2 or even 27 more kids if you want to!"

the discovery of Tam. and Sul. and I will be SUPER grateful if they do their job!

the lack of side affects from Tam. and Sul.

my two funny little dogs and their excitement every time I walk in the door!

chances to go on dates with my love.

my hair!  It might be vain, but DANG, growing it back has been a process and I finally feel like it's back to normal!

a great ward and for the chance to serve with amazing ladies and wonderful girls!

the time I got to spend with Te-Te and for the time I will get to spend with Omie.

all of the thousands of pictures that I have of Drake.

Tuesday and Friday nights!

my husband's willingness to finish school.

I will be FOREVER grateful for...

Chris.

Drake.

all of my family.  Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, omies, te-tes, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and everyone that we know and love.

the gospel and for the knowledge I have that it's true.

A new leaf

Well, I decided that I REALLY need to turn over a new leaf with my blogging.  I have tried to be pretty good about posting our happenings but a few weeks ago I uploaded all my posts from the last two years into blurb and realized that I have lots of pictures but not much explanation.  In the past, I've kind of felt like people really don't care that much about all the details of our happenings but I just reminded myself that I really don't blog for anyone other than myself and Omie and Te-Te!  I am going to try really hard to be better about writing as much as I can, even the little silly things, because I know in a few years I'll look back and be glad that I did.  I'm really and truly going to make this blog my journal. I've had good intentions of doing this in the past, but it's never really panned out how I would like it.  I'll apologize in advance to those that may happen to read my posts because I'm sure they will be quite boring to anyone that isn't family, but oh well!  I've GOT to be a better record keeper!  So... with that said, here we go!

[02.28.10]
Sunday was a BEAUTIFUL day so Chris and I decided to get out of the house with the boys.  We parked at the St. James trailhead and walked to mom and dad's.  The temp was only in the mid 60s but the sun was super warm and Chris was OF COURSE hot!  Drake was in heaven.  He loves to be outside and is so funny to watch as he takes in all of his new surroundings!  He has figured out that he can flop back in the stroller and make the whole thing rock a bit and had a good ol' time doing it while we walked!  He really loves to walk with the boys, especially when he can reach the leashes.  He has always loved his brothers but he is especially enamored by them now.  They are the first ones he points to whenever he wakes up and he is constantly following them around the house trying to give them "pat-pats."  I've been very sweetly surprised at how well both dogs have dealt with the little man.  Tobie tends to run away from him when he can, but he'll usually let Drake give him a few good pats through out the day.   Drake is also very good at throwing Otie's toys for him!  They obviously don't go very far but he definitely understands the idea of throwing them, which I think is adorable!  He is really starting to pick up on things more quickly than I had imagined.

[2.25.10]
Last Wednesday, grammy decided to work more with Drake on his stair climbing.  He was a little hesitant at first, but he figured out that going up is not so bad and is really pretty good at it!  The going down part has not come as easily, but hopefully he'll figure it out soon!  Moving the gate back and forth gets old!  This same night, Big demonstrated his sweet dance moves for the first time!  Dad and his Relief Society girls were in the basement playing Rock Band while we played on the stairs.  At one point, Drake stood up to the railing and started his bouncing!  It was so cute and funny to see him do it!  Since then, we've caught him dancing with Dylan and had a good laugh!  Love watching this little one grow up and learn new things!

[2.25.10]
This is the beginning of my latest project.  I have been wanting to make this ABC quiet book for months and a few days before Drake's birthday, he got a package in the mail from Kristen.  Inside were the felt pieces for EVERY SINGLE PAGE of the quiet book, all cut out and ready to go!!!  I was seriously amazed!  I really almost cried seeing them!  I know it's kind of silly to be so thrilled with something like this but just the fact that Kristen spent SOOOO much time cutting everything out for me made me want to bawl! I am so blessed to have such an amazing friend that would take so much time out of her busy life to do something for me!  She is honestly one of the most thoughtful and incredible people that I have ever known and I am truly grateful for her! Kristen... if you're reading this, know that I love you so much and hope you know how much this means to me!

[2.24.10 - 2.26.10]
Lucky for me, Drake loves to put things "away!"  These are just a few of the things that I found last week around the house and at mom and dad's.  I found the remote when I pulled cloths out of the basket to put in the wash and got a good laugh!  I am always finding binkies "put away" in any little drawer or compartment he can fit them in.  This compartment in his little table is definitely a favorite!  I also find them in the back of his little train and in the cab of his truck.  This drawer is at mom and dad's and he has obviously taken it over.  Every time we are there, he adds and subtracts items!  It is hilarious to watch his little mind work while he's doing it!  Yesterday, I found a highlighter that I had been using earlier in the day put away in the front compartment of his little walker car.  I couldn't find it for a minute and then noticed the car close to where I had left it and knew right away where to look! Finding all of his treasures always puts a smile on my face!

[2.27.10]
Last Saturday, Grandma Weave gave Drake his first official haircut!  It wasn't really a planned event, so I don't have pictures from my camera but Grandpa Weave snapped a few so I will at least be able to document them at some point.  Drake sat on my lap while grandma trimmed him up a bit.  His hair was really pretty unruly but now looks great!  She cut just the right amount and left him with his cute little curls in the back!  He is very handsome and "big kid" looking now!
