Memorial Weekend Pictures

Memorial Day Weekend!

For Memorial Day weekend this year, we packed up the car and drove up to Salt Lake for Derek Welling's wedding. Welling and Weave were companions in Tacoma and have been best buddies ever since! They are truly two peas in a pod! Our other best buddies, the Colburns, were able to fly up from Arizona for the wedding so we had double the fun! It is always such a blast to hang out with Brinton and Char! Charlotte is pregnant with baby #3 and couldn't be cuter! Monday, we BBQ'd at my parents with the Matt, Am and cute Dylan. We're so lucky to have such good friends that like to hang out with my family! Amber has been so sweet to my mom by letting her pretend that Dylan is her grand baby too! She is such a doll! We all just can't get enough of her. After dinner on Monday, we met up with Kristen, Tyler and Ry for a little Cold Stone. It's always so fun to hang out with them! Ty is hilarious with his mountain man beard, Ryan is so stinkin' cute and Kristen is as wonderful as ever!! We're so blessed to have such awesome friends! We love you all and thanks for a fabulous weekend!! Let's do it again soon!

The first Tag!!

1. I was 5 years old.
2. We lived in Cleveland, Ohio and my favorite place to be was my grandmas!
3. My hair was sooo long and thick! My mom would try to put it in the ol' side pony, which looked ridiculous! I wore matching socks with each school outfit and had hot pink Keds!

10 years ago ....
1. Lacey R. and I were inseparable! We used to make up dances to Janet Jackson songs and practice them in her living room! We also taught Scott, Jared Madsen, and Corey Ferguson how to "Panthera walk" and how to do axles! Scott had a "secret" crush on Jessica Debenham and referred to her as Luva Duva!!
2. I went back to Ohio is stay with my grandparents for the summer to earn money to pay for Pantheras. Lacey and I used to fax each other notes back and forth!
3. I met my cute husband at Jared Shakespeare's Pizza Factory birthday party.

1. I was still miserable and writing to my missionary who was almost home!
2. I worked for City 1st Mortgage.
3. I had BRACES! Yep... I somehow managed to wait to do the braces thing until I was 19! It was crappy!

1. Chris and I were loving life as newly weds!
2. Chris surprised me with my little Tobie! (He's not so little anymore though!)
3. Round four of the Tumor Chronicles was soon to begin. Surgery number four was in July and Chemo started in October!

1. I was working from home and babysitting the most adorable baby on the planet... Emery Sage!
2. Was loving the summer break from school!
3. Ran the Hurricane Half Marathon with Amber and Char.

So far this year I have...
1. Survived two of Kevin Barret's classes at the college. Ask anyone that knows... it was a miracle that I made it out alive!!
2. Learned to put new bubblers in my yard and have re-planted and added lots of new flowering bushes to my yard. The old ones were sick!!
3. Made lots of new friends at my new job at Far West Bank.

Yesterday I...
1. Worked all day.
2. Went to a new restaurant in town and wasn't impressed!
3. Made my dogs "power walk" with me around my neighborhood because we all need the exercise! (I can only do it at night because I look like a fool!)

Today I...
1. Have been working all day.
2. Kissed my husband good-bye for the weekend. He's off to the Jazz game!
3. Will hopefully cut the grass, fertilize my plants, do some laundry, mop my floors, and play with my boys! I have to get lots done while Chris is away. When he's home, I don't get very much done! He's way too distracting!!

Tomorrow I will...
1. Touch up some paint, clean my carpets, and scrub my shower.
2. Sit in the sun and read my new book, "Vanishing Acts," by Jodi Picoult. I love her!
3. Brave the horribleness of Wal-Mart. I despise Wal-Mart but it's the cheapest place for so many things!

In the next year I may....
1. Finally get in shape.
2. Hopefully incubate a little Weaver!
3. Hopefully graduate from school! The ten year plan is the pits!

I tag... Kat, Lacey, and Amy.

May 14th!!

Back in the pre-mission days, Chris and I decided to declare May 14th as "our day," because we couldn't remember exactly when we started dating. We knew it was sometime in May and decided on the 14th because my birthday is a 3rd and his is an 11th. I know it's kind of funky but we've kept it up because it's fun to have another day of the year to celebrate!! This year will be our eighth year together! Granted, two years were spent apart, but writing every week should count as being together, as far as I'm concerned!  I am the luckiest lady around! My babe is the best husband a girl could ask for.  I am so grateful that he has the patience to put up with me! This lovely photo was taken the night of our first date! It was actually the year before we started dating, but it still counts as the "first date!" We look so little!! It's hard to remember looking so young.  We were both just 16!  Happy May 14th my Love!!

Mother's Day!

Chris and I have been horrible about taking pictures these last few years. I'm sure it has something to do with the whole chemo, ugly bald lady thing, but still... we've been exceptionally bad, so I decided to turn over a new leaf and snapped a few on Sunday at my mom's.

Notice the shoes... we found these beauties at Christensen's on Saturday and my man decided that he could not live without them! He informed me that they are the baddest shoes he's ever had! He's even contemplating buying another pair to wear for temple shoes. He's so funky but I love him!

Bird's the Word! (Her nicname)
My cute sister is home for the summer! I'm so excited to have her around for a few months. She's still dead set on heading off on a mission in a few months, but I'm doing my best to distract her! My future child needs their Aunt Bird around to spoil them! And besides... two missionaries out at one time is too many! (My little brother is serving in Korea!)

Melissa... I know you're out there!
I just wanted to say thanks for being so great! We're so grateful that Snipes found such an amazing girl! Two years is freaking long, but you'll make it! We'll do lots of fun things while he's gone! He'll be home before you know it!

My husband is a giant!! He looks huge in this picture! And yes... he thinks he's so funny and always tries to either grope me or looks like he's on drugs, so I guess I'll take the grope and a smile! I love him like crazy though... what more could a girl want!

The Boys

I've decided that since I don't have any human babies to post about, I'll just have to make due with my furry ones! Chris and I discovered a few months ago that our boys LOVE the river! Tobie is hilarious to watch swim. Ordinarily he's not big on chasing things, but at the river... he will go after anything if it means jumping in the water. The one spot we take him has a pretty strong current and he has discovered that if he hits it just right, he can float down the river until we call him and make him come back! Reggie is a hoot too! He will fetch anything, anytime. Balls, stuffed animals, Frisbees, dirt clods, rocks, you name it, he'll chase it! He loves to paddle out to his ball and bring it back to us, without getting it sandy, of course! If he does happen to drop it in the sand, he'll try to roll it around until he's cleared a spot big enough for his mouth. He's a freak, but we love him!

Who knew...

Okay... so I've officially decided that trying to get pregnant is a joke! This morning as I hurried back to bed to take my temperature before it changed from my basal body temp. (or whatever they call it) I realized that being a girl and trying to get pregnant is not all it's cracked up to be! I know I should be thrilled at the possibility of being pregnant, and I really am, I just find all of the theories and "sure bet ways to tell if you're ovulating," quite silly! Honestly, who has to run back to bed in the morning to take their temperature!?! The first time Chris saw me do it, he laughed his butt off! Neither of us had any idea that trying to get pregnant can be a complicated matter! I guess I've always thought that you just stop taking the ol' BC and ya end up pregnant! Who knew you had to figure out when you ovulate, not eat certain foods, take vitamins, drink lots of water, make sure your man doesn't eat certain foods, takes his vitamins, etc. Oh well though, it will be worth all the shenanigans in the end and I think we've finally figured out all the tricks, so hopefully a Weaver baby is on the way soon!

Here ya go Char...

These pictures aren't the best because there wasn't enough sun, but it's all I have right now. You'll just have to come up and see for yourself! Notice the fire pit... my sweet babe gave into my begging and bought it for me. It uses gas instead of burning real wood so we can sit out there every night and not smell like a camp fire. We've used it almost everyday since we got it! We love it!

Transitioning...

Okay, so I've finally gotten my act together and have decided that I should probably stop anonymously stalking other people's blogs and actually begin posting to my own blog and commenting on other's like the rest of the world does! I've been kind of reluctant to start a blog because my dear sweet husband reminds me often that we really don't have anything exciting to blog about and makes fun of me for being a stalker; however, I don't really care anymore and have made the transition for a few reasons. First and foremost, I have loved finding old friends from high school and seeing how great they're doing and how adorable their kiddies are! Second, I have never been and probably never will be a good journal keeper and have decided that this would be a fun way to keep track of our lives and I've also learned that you can have your blog printed and made into a book, which is very cool! Third, I have entirely too much time and nothing to do to fill it while at work and this is way more fun than looking at the Pottery Barn website and wishing I could buy everything! So... that being said, I guess I am now officially a "blogger!"
