My baby looks like...

...his dad!!

Lots of pictures

Four Weeks!

Where have the last four weeks gone?? I can't believe that my little son is this old already! It was just yesterday that I was big as a barn and anxiously awaiting his arrival.  He has changed so much in such a short time.  People always tell me to enjoy every second because it flies by and they sure aren't kidding!

Things to remember about Drake at four weeks...

* He hates, hates, hates to be swaddled with his arms at his sides.  He wiggles around until he gets at least one free

* He is a mover and a shaker.  He constantly kicks and squirms around like a big boy!  He makes jerky movements with his hands and feet, just like he did while in the belly

* Warm milk runs right through the little boy. He'll be all clean and changed, start to eat and fill his diaper within five minutes of being changed!

* He hates, to be changed, dressed, lotioned, and burped.  He acts like he's being abused until he's all done and cuddled.

* He hated his sponge baths but loves his real baths. He loves to sit in the warm water and hasn't peed in the tub yet.

* He has to be burped four or five times while eating or else his belly will hurt and he'll be fussy

* He hates to sleep in his crib.  The longest nap in the crib to date is only about twenty minutes.

* He's spoiled already! He isn't very content to just sit in his swing or bouncer while awake for very long. He knows that there is always someone around to hold him.

* He loves his car seat and falls right to sleep as soon as we get him all tucked in.

* He gets the nasty hiccups all the time and they usually make him puke.

* Most nights, he goes to bed around eleven, will sleep until four, eat a little something, and pass out again until eight or so.

* He's a very quiet sleeper.

* He may have a little acid reflux issue.  What goes down, usually tries to come back up, even when he's trying to sleep.  He cries out for a second, swallows a few times and is fine.

Life is good!

Well, I'm happy to report that the Mac is back up and running and it only cost $130 to fix and we were able to restore everything!! Phew! (thank you, external hard drive!) I would have been devastated had I lost all of my sweet boy's pictures.

This last week with the baby has gone by so fast!  Last Wednesday I took him for his two week check-up and circumcision.  He weighed in at 8 lbs 13 oz. and was 21.5 in long.  We definitely are not losing weight around our house!  Everything else checked out perfectly and the circumcision was not half as bad as I anticipated.  We did have a bit of drama Wednesday night with Drake's little boy parts, though.  After the doctor was finished, he put a piece of gauze around "it" and said to leave it on for awhile.  Well, I wasn't about to take it off too soon, so I left it on until that night, just in case.  Unfortunately, my too soon, was way too long and the gauze ended up sticking to "it" and would not come off.   It was horrible! Luckily I was at my mom's house and she was brave enough to soak it off while I bawled and held the baby down.  It was quite traumatic.  Seeing my little one in pain was one of the worst things I have ever experienced.  I am so not looking forward to scrapes, broken bones, big cuts and all of the other injuries that come with having a little boy!  Thank goodness they heal quick! Drake is all better now and is as happy as can be!

These pictures are a bit out of order, but they were all taken within the last two weeks.  I have so many pictures already, and have no idea what to do with them.  I need some advice! Do I scrapbook them, stick them in albums, make dvds, etc??? I need help!!

The first walk to the Fatty's in the stroller!

Watching "shows." He loves the lights on the TV and is pretty content to sit in his boppy and watch shows with us in the evenings!

Oh, I just love him!

Ya gotta love the cross-eyed moments!

Lookin' like a little old man, getting ready to go to Dylan's big birthday bash!

Grandpa Weaver loves his baby!

When it Rains, it Pours!

It seems that someone or something is out to get the Weavers this week! Last night as I was snuggling my little love, my husband calls my name from his office to inform me that his magnificent Mac has died on him. He messed around with it for a few minutes but was unsuccessful at reviving it. Luckily, all was not lost, thanks to the recently purchased external hard drive, but still, there goes a few hundred or maybe even a few thousand down the drain to fix the problem or replace the whole thing. Ahh!! Earlier this week, we had to replace a tire on my jeep, which was not cheap, my vacuum decided to stop working again, and just this morning my sweet hard working husband was rewarded for parking on the wrong side of the street with a big fat parking ticket by a swell police officer that obviously had nothing better to do!! So, although life is still bliss with our sweet little son, reality has quickly set back in this week! Ya gotta love it!

A quick thanks!

I just wanted to say thanks again to all of you that have left us such sweet comments about our new little one.  Each comment, congratulations, and well wish has meant so much to us!   Thank you, Thank you!

What!! Nine days old already!

My little son is going to grow up too fast! I can't believe he's been here for over a week already!  Life here at the Weaver residence just really couldn't be any better.  I know that my hormones are whacky right now, but I honestly have been so overcome with emotion since my sweet baby was born, I can hardly look at him without tearing up.  I have been so greatly blessed and really can't even put into words how special these last nine days have been.  I have never felt closer to Heaven and know without a doubt that this precious boy is a gift from our Father in Heaven.  It's amazing to watch him change from day to day and think that someday he will be old enough to understand for himself what a miracle it is to have a child of his own!

He sleeps just like his daddy... arms up over his head!

He has taken a liking to only opening one eye to see what's going on around him.  He does this all the time!

Hates, hates, hates, having his clothes and diaper changed!

Oh how I love this little one! I'm getting all watery just looking at these pictures! I'm a wreck but I wouldn't change a thing! Crying all the time when you're happy, is okay, right!!?
